Invitation

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we would like to invite you to attend the International Workshop on Pesticides Uses and Environmental Safety in Latin America, sponsored by IUPAC and GARP, to be held in São Paulo City, Brasil on 13th - 16th October, 1996 at Brasilton Hotel.

IUPAC workshops, held every four years, are scientific events growing in importance and interest, and will be for the first time held in Latin America. It is a major event which has the full backing of the Brazilian Agencies linked to agriculture, health and environment, and scientific organizations such as SBQ, FAPESP, CNPq, as well as LACPA, ANDEF and AENDA.

The major goal of the Workshop is to discuss and to explore the approaches of Risk/Benefit evaluation of pesticide uses in Latin America communities, including general aspects, environmental, analytical, human exposure and regulation requirements. For the purpose we will have several contributions from outstanding scientific from all over the world.

We look forward to seeing you in São Paulo City in 1996.


Place of the event:
São Paulo City
São Paulo, the largest city in Southern Hemisphere, with over 17 million inhabitants, is better known as the economical capital of the country, besides being the State Capital. It gathers immigrants from several countries of the world, most of them Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, Arabian, and American, people who contributed to give the City the features it now presents. It is considered a gastronomic paradise for its highly ranked restaurants, and its hotel services are among the best ones, both in quality an quantity.
The wheather in October is quite pleasant, with an average temperature od 25oC (77oF).

General Information
The meeting will be held at Hotel Brasilton, localed in downtown, which provides a superior structure for these kind of events.

    Loadging
    There are many options of hotels with special fees for participants of meeting. A list of hotels with fees will be presented in the next announcement.

    The fee includes lunch on 14, 15 and 16 October, opening receptions, two coffee breaks per day and material of the event.

    Detailed information on the scientific program, lodging and registration procedures will be provided in the second announcement to be released in May 96.
